Get Yer Chunk On!

Hi All and Welcome to the 2nd week of the Macabre Monday challenge at Haunted Design House -
Get Yer Chunk On!.......a chunky ATC.  Don't freak out, honestly, this is really fun.  Basically, a chunky ATC consists of a dimensional ATC measuring 3.5" x 2.5" x 1.5". Usually it is cut from a plank of wood, but it can also be a bunch of ATC's glued together to achieve the 1.5" depth.  You can also create a hollow box (see the template below), so long as the measurements are 3.5" x 2.5" x 1.5". You can have all kinds of dimension and embellishments, as long as they are all attached to the original block/box

Now that we have the basic details out of the way. You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Hallowe'en based Chunky ATC

Here is mine

 Side view

I have used a block of wood measuring 3.5" x 2.5" x 1.5" and painted it red. The background stamp is from Tim Holtz Components collection, by Stampers Anonymous. The Dracula stamp I bought from a seller on Ebay.

Fussy Cutting With Smudgy Antics

Hi All, Welcome to another 2 week challenge with Smudgy Antics. The theme for the next two weeks is to use Fussy Cutting in your project. Get creative with your cutting. You can make dimensional images with multiple fussy cut layers or you can fussy cut an intricate design. The more creative the better. Lets see if you can use fussy cutting in a way we haven't seen before. Although you may use die cuts to enhance your project, there must be a portion of your project fussy cut by hand. If your fussy cut element is not obvious, please state what you have fussy cut in the write up of your post.

This is what I came up with

The image is a digi stamp, called Mirror Mirror, it's drawn by Ike of Ikesart, available exclusively at Smeared Ink. The young girl and the vampires blood bottle have been fussy cut and layered over the main image. you can see the dimension in the second photo, sorry it's a bit blurred :(

Smeared Ink and Rick St Denis Voodoo

I was lucky enough to get to play with one of the new images by Rick St Denis drawn exclusively for Smeared Ink's Rubber Club. These images will not be available as digi's, but as a member of Smeared Ink I got to play with my choice in digi form

Here is a preview of the full Voodoo set

I chose to play with the Voodoo Doll (top left corner)

As you can see I made a tag. The image, I coloured with Promarkers and stitched his mouth, arms and legs with embroidery silk. I also add coloured pins and buttons on his eyes. The backing paper is by Crafty Chaos, unfortunately no longer available. I finally added more embroidery silk as a tassel and frayed it so went all fluffy.

Use Metal with Smudgy Antics

Hi All and Welcome to another fortnight challenge with Smudgy Antics :)

The theme for this challenge is to use METAL in your creation. I played safe and made a broach, but we would really love it if you use metal from an actual hardware store, scrap metal, found metal objects, recycled soup cans and aluminium pop/soda/fizzy drink cans, etc.

My Broach

Close up of the image

The cameo frame I bought in Hobbycraft when they were selling them off at 99p, so I've had it in my stash for quite a while now. The tassel is an earring I bought from a charity shop (Thanks BD). The image is a Digi stamp from the Specimen Jar set by Smeared Ink She has been coloured with promarkers blue's, grey's and black.

Hi All and welcome to a new Macabre Monday Challenge at Haunted Design House. For the next two weeks the challenge is Freaker's Free For All. You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween based art piece and that's it, no other rules.....Anything Goes!

Here is what I came up with

The image is called Immortal Flight. The Birthday Sentiment is a Stamp by Lily of the Valley (I think), which I heat embossed and mounted on a punched out flower shape. All embellishments are from my stash.

Quest 22 IndePOEdence Day

Welcome to Quest 22 IndePOEdence Day at Quoth the Raven.  We are celebrating the 4th of July.....Independence Day along with are friends in the US.

For the next month we at Quoth challenge you to create something to celebrate American Independence Day. Your creation must include images or reference to Edgar Allan Poe that is obvious to the viewer. A lack of POE connection will result in your creation being excluded from the draw for the prize and you don't want to miss out on the chance of winning this months prize.  The very generous Ike of Ikes Art is offering.................

Here is my offering to the Master

The Edgar Allan Poe image is a rubber stamp from Smeared Ink. All of the background images are from the net, including the banner which has been cut up and attached to a red ribbon.

In The Wild

Hi All and welcome back for another fortnight challenge with Smudgy Antics!
The theme for this challenge is In The Wild.
We want to see how far you can take this challenge. The more creative and out of the box the better!

If you are totally clueless, you can use an image of something found in the wild or you can create a scene that depicts being in the wild. You can even use actual elements of the great outdoors, such as twigs, sticks, leaves, flowers, feathers and stones etc.

Originally, I felt like making something bright and colourful with butterfly's and flowers, but it's OK, I had a lie down and the feeling went away.

The Howling Wolf image is a digi stamp by Smeared Ink, coloured with pro-markers.  The background is an image borrowed from the net.
